Scheming Great Rooms and fabrics today. Still haven’t recovered from the Great Room I swanned around in, in The Hamptons Designer Showhouse that I had the privilege of visiting in August last year. It was in Southampton. A short bike ride from the centre of town. Yep, rode my bike and plonked myself down on that very sofa, helmet hair and all ….. and stayed for hours.
I loved the fireplace molding and sense of symmetry.
And oh those windows!
It was such a welcoming, cosy room, despite the grandeur of the joinery finishes and the height of the room.
Unpretentious in it’s decor.
Loved the rug too.
And the windows opened out onto the most magnificent deck. Be. Still. Heart. I might share the deck with you tomorrow. Yes, that’s what I’ll do. Let’s head back up to the Hamptons this week and imagine what it would be like not covered in a metre of snow!
Happy Monday!

You will pet. xx
I really like patterned curtains, so why don’t I have any? I guess like most of us I play it safe. Love the windows, love the fireplace and love the rug.
I know, don’t they work well? Maybe we’re all too afraid and play it safe too much. I know I do! xx
Such gorgeous inspiration – love it all!

Love the windows, but would not want to be the one to have to clean them….I decided against those kind of windows, just for that haha.
